This week the Democratic Party officially nominated Hillary Clinton.  She is the first female nominee for U.S. president.

“I can't believe we just put the biggest crack in that glass ceiling yet,” said Clinton.

New Hampshire has also put cracks in that glass ceiling.  In 2012 New Hampshire was the first state to have an all-female congressional delegation and female governor at the same time.

On July 28 Roll Call published an editorial predicting that New Hampshire’s Sen. Kelly Ayotte could be the first female Republican nominee for U.S. president.

There was also buzz in 2012 and 2016 that she was on the list of candidates for vice president.

First, though, Ayotte will need to defend her senate seat from challenger Maggie Hassan.

Although no one’s talking about a presidential run for Hassan yet, at least one political pundit picked her as a possible vice presidential nominee in 2014.

Do you think any of New Hampshire’s current elected officials have a shot at the presidency?  Let us know in the comments.
