The Judiciary Committee of the New Hampshire House considered on Tuesday whether to repeal the law that creates a 25-foot buffer around facilities that provide abortions in the Granite State.

The buffer zone law was passed last year by a Democra-controlled House and was slated to go into effect on July 1. But its enforcement has been delayed by a U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down a similar Massachusetts law.

The Republican-controlled House is now considering a bill on whether to repeal the law.

Committee members heard from Planned Parenthood of New England, which recommended replacing the law instead of repealing it. The group recommended Planned Parenthood of Northern New England laws that create criminal and civil fines for blocking the entrances to women's health care facilities or harassing employees and patients who enter them.
