According to the latest federal campaign finance reports, New Hampshire candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives have already spent roughly $3 million dollars this election year.

Ann McLane Kuster, the Democratic incumbent in the 2nd District, has spent the most of any U.S. House candidate so far: $807,683. Coming in second place was Democrat Maura Sullivan of the 1st district with $429,656. Together those two Democrats accounted for about two-fifths of all spending in a pool of 32 total candidates.

Kuster and Sullivan are also leading in the amount of individual contributions - although Sullivan has faced criticism for the relatively large share of donations from individuals living outside New Hampshire. Sullivan moved to New Hampshire last year after a career in military and politics that took her to several states and countries.

On the Republican side, so far veteran law enforcement officer Eddie Edwards has spent the most in the 1st District ($325,926). Current state representative Steve Negron has spent the most among Republicans in the 2nd District ($207,867).

Two other Republicans have spent less now but have much more saved up for later in the election. 1st District candidate and current state senator Andy Sanborn has raised $838,344 for his campaign, mostly self-financing. 2nd District candidate and current doctor Stewart Levenson has raised $450,843, also mostly self-financing.
