POSITION ON ISSUES

The Citizens Count issue surveys are the primary source for issue positions on this website. Each election season Citizens Count sends a survey on policy issues to every candidate for state and federal office in New Hampshire. We make every effort to reach each candidate by snail-mail, e-mail, and phone. If an issue position is still not answered through our survey, we utilize other resources including voting records, candidate websites, campaign fliers, Project Vote Smart surveys, and more. Any questions or suggestions on issue positions? Contact us.

I believe we need to be better at enforcing campaign finance laws with candidates held accountable for money they take from the people to campaign and how they are using it. This is an ethical matter and we want our elected officials to use high ethical standards and transparency.

I truly believe that the people of NH need more of a voice in government. As Governor of NH, while I have personal opinions on laws and bills as expressed in the survey above, I believe that the Governor should be representing all of the people of NH and thus if the majority of NH voted in opposition of my position, I would always vote with the PEOPLE of the state. I would like to see more state wide bills put to the people in the state for voting where possible.
