State Sen. Jeb Bradley is sponsoring a bill that would give additional duties to the joint health care reform oversight committee, which oversees the state's Affordable Care Act implementation. New responsibilities would include providing additional oversight, recommendations, and policy direction for the state's expanded Medicaid program.

"We've kind of wandered off into those territories a lot already," Bradley said to the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. "This just makes sure that the statute keeps up with what the committee has done and should continue to do."

At the start of the month, more than 30,000 New Hampshire residents had signed up for coverage under the new Medicaid program.
